Miley Cyrus Surprises The Sparkles at Oprah

Miley Cyrus teaches some of the “Hoedown Throwdown” to Iowa cheer team The Sparkles backstage at one of her concerts.

The Sparkles, who appeared on Oprah during yesterday’s broadcast, shared their story of how they got their start and what the team has meant to the parents of the special needs children.

Miley shared in her bit, “I’m really excited to meet them. I’ve heard about everything they’ve done.”

She even brought the team out on stage with her during “The Climb!” How awesome!

The Hannah Montana starlet turns 17 TODAY! Can you believe it?

Miley will be celebrating with friends and family on her day while they gear up to rock out Charlotte, North Carolina tomorrow night.

Last year, Miley held her Sweet 16 at DisneyLand in Anaheim, Calif., with all of her Disney friends including BFF Demi Lovato.

But that wasn’t all, Miley also was surprised backstage at the 2008 American Music Awards by gal pals Taylor Swift and Ashley Tisdale.

We hope this year’s is as good as last years!

While they won’t actually come out and say it, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth clearly have more than your typical friendship.

The 16-year-old actress/singer revealed to Seventeen mag (via People) about their chemistry together.

Miley shared, “I’ve never gotten along with someone so well. I was a little anxious about making this movie; I wanted everything to be perfect. To go on set and feel insecure was a totally new element for me. But he felt the same way. He admitted his insecurities, and it was really nice to have someone who understands me for once.”

She continued, “We’ve decided that any type of relationship that we have, we will always just keep it very D.L. First and foremost, we are best friends, so that’s what I tell people all the time.”
